Public BBQ

A large, well-equipped playground at Forde beside the Ngunnawal Country wetlands. Half of it is fenced with a closeable gate on the side facing the ponds, which helps, though it is only partly enclosed. The equipment runs to a high swing set with both standard and bucket seats, a large spider net, a turntable platform, a seesaw hopper and a very tall metal slide with a pole ladder that toddlers should not attempt alone. There is a large metal shelter with two picnic tables, a double barbecue, a bubbler with a dog bowl, bike racks and bins. The ponds alongside are worth the walk: paths with two bridges, bench seats, sculptures of ducks, a frog and a dragonfly, and educational plaques about the wetlands. There are no toilets and no carpark, only limited kerbside parking, and the metal equipment gets too hot to use between midday and three in summer.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
